Pack Design for 3 product ranges for Renadu Millets : Whole Grain, Upma Rava & Idli Rava

PROJECT BACKGROUND : 

This project reimagines millet — one of India’s most ancient grains — for a modern, mindful world. Rooted in India’s ancient farming traditions, Renadu Millets are revived for a modern generation seeking nourishment with purpose. The redesign replaces plastic with biodegradable kraft packaging, a conscious shift from consumption to care. Each pack embodies honesty and earthiness, reflecting the grain’s natural resilience and minimal water use.  With new hand-drawn illustrations and a muted palette, the design reconnects consumers to the soil, the farmer, and the story behind every harvest — a key requirement of the given brief.  The result is a premium yet accessible identity that speaks to women and families who value authenticity, health, and heritage.  At its core, the new packaging for Renadu millets turns a humble grain into a statement of conscious living, carrying forward India’s agricultural legacy into tomorrow’s kitchens.

THE CREATIVE CONCEPT

The brief aimed to reimagine a millet brand’s packaging — creating a design that feels authentic, earthy and contemporary.  

VISUAL DIRECTION & STRATEGY

Four mood boards were created to explore what's next for the brand’s visual tone

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT - 1

The first design iterations explored millet forms, layout, and the brand's authentic expression — translating the mood boards into tangible packaging concepts.

The feedback was received from the company's internal team to also incorporate the ancient Indian farming element as that was an integral part of their business and brand voice.

VISUAL LANGUAGE

Every detail in the design comes together to tell the brand’s story — organic illustrations, natural textures, and modernist letterforms come together to create a cohesive, grounded identity. Mixing modern minimalism with tradition.
